Hello guys, trying out a blogging tool from my blackberry.. i hope it works. just finished my days grind. took a little poker break for a week for personal reasons. emptied my bankroll and resolved to start from scratch grinding the lowstakes tournaments. enter 2.20 dollar 8k guaranteed. early test with KK and i lay it down on J75 flop opponents had JJ and 55. i endured a torrid start in particular and game in general. and got a few streaks to an early chip lead. then a barren stretch got me clamoring for another chance.with 56k chips late on 22>AJ, AK>KQ and 88>44 aipf back to back to propel me to t$380k. then the big hand and even bigger question. cld i lay down KK on 695 flop. turns out he had 67 and decided to call my shove with umpteen bb's 7 on the flop and an x river brought me back down to earth. had pill to swallow but i have seen worse.i couldnt rebuild and sank to a set to drop out in 39th place. i will be back tomorrow. maybe i wont have to laydown my Kings. see ya.

so i continue my resurgent run at the large field MTTs. yesterday was Sunday and as we all know on pokerstars its most usually a heck of a sunday , every sunday. i popped in and played a couple of MTT's and ended up cashing in 5 out of the 6 i played though i couldnt manage the deep enough run in them. i did manage to finish 162nd out of 19000+ that started the bigger sunday 11 as my best performance of the day followed closely by a similar run in the 5 dollar with 2 rebuy and 1 reload.
It is here that i almost pissed my pants when i got moved to the same table as swedish online tournament crushing phenom (uaredead lol), the full awesomeness of him was seated with position on me. i honestly wanted to shake his hand but ofcourse that couldnt happen. and it was perhaps fitting that he was the one that got to eliminate a shortstacked me on a hand he got lucky on the river actually. He sits atop the TLB 2011 leaderboard for all that care and i promise my revenge in one MTT or another.

I finally get my season campaign back on track and promise to finish as far up as possible going into the business end of this year. Representing Nigeria and Africa i will make my mark.

Beware of the nit behind you...when in middle position

i really should be putting in a little nap shift after 7 hrs 22 mins of grinding the 2 dollar with one rebuy and one reload 5k guaranteed MTT on pokerstars. But i am used to this and decided to register a late blog entry. i made it to the final table having won 22 of my 28 showdown hands and picking off some 26 hands without showdown and pretty much satisfied with my general play. i proved i could hit a final table every now and then and hope i can register this runs even more consistently.
going into the final hand where i was dealt AK and the only other player with a stack shorter than mine pushing with AJ. i called after tanking and reviewing his play for the past few hands, i had only the 2 players behind me to worry about. AA was the confirmation from the player with direct position on me...oh well out in 6th but still very pleased with my performance.
Poker for me is always going to be for me and i have gotten past getting disappointed everytime i fall short of the price. hopefully i win another tourney soon.
Lemme try and rest my obviously tired body though i feel far from tired probably due to the infamous adrenaline rush you get from final tabling.

A bubble... and then some more.

Yesterdays grind was somewhat mixed fortuney (i will make use of a few reinvented words in my blog) as i bubbled a 180 man sng in the most annoying of ways after playing my best poker in ages it seemed well like destiny. overaggressive nit with 99 while i had position and over pair JJ on a 9TJ flop we both had absurd chipstack the chips went in on flop and A and 7 street cards gave him the flush and crippled me. end of story... i went on to register some kinda run in the 8k guaranteed with 4867 runners. i made my first bad decision and got punished pushing with 33 i ran into KK.. out in 44ish.
Overall, i am impressed with the way i play this days..which is more composed and a bit back to my pre-black friday days.
I have to go for a bit as i am multi-tabling, skyping and attempting to blog all at once. not very easyish i tell you.. more to come later. ciao

Encouraging review.

I got a message on twitter from a fellow poker player. she said she like my blogpost. Trust me another day would have gone by if not for her kind message. i decided to look in and discovered i had 4 people following my blog, hence the rebirth of a much more serious blogger... back here in Nigeria, you wont find too many online poker player. Too many factor make what would be a routine grind quite hectic. Not for me... i try to find a new challenge everyday and prioritize (you will discover, up until a couple of weeks ago poker was top priority.)

after Black Friday, i cant explain it but something died in me. i was en route to making platinum star on Pokerstars and was steadily building my bankroll. i even had a little number of people that would turn up to rail me whenever i hit the virtual felt. then it happened... i lost the zest or will to grind. try as i might it just wouldn't happen for me. I took this decline into the SCOOP tournament season where i managed a paltry 3 cashes of semi deep runs which for me was pretty much completely disappointing as i kinda had momentum building till my abrupt slump.

I decided to take a break of the beautiful game that is poker and return after i had sanitized myself. i am making a semi return due to pressure from a couple of friends that claim i provided a figure head and some sorta motivational character for them. Having said that i realize how much i missed the game (so far this year i have made close to a million Naira playing both online and live cash games.) so i am going to invest a lot more and go for the top. Really don't know how to end this i wont attempt to either. breaking off now as there is so much to write about and can continue on another day... Cheers

the up's and down's of cash games

finally I return to my abandoned blog post, somehow i woke up with a craving to resume the blogging i never started.
Last night i put in a volume of .10/.25 cents .5 ante cash game grinding. swinging low for most of the day and in danger of LOOSING MY ENTIRE BANKROLL when things suddenly turn around and i started swinging up. maybe it was my decision to stop fooling around and finally play some poker, maybe the gods decided it was my turn to shine. whatever it was.. it worked massively.
